Duties:

This position assists the entire marketing team with a wide variety of tasks aimed at increasing the efficiency of the press's overall marketing and sales operations.

  • Draft publicity materials, including press releases and media kits
  • Participate in planning and executing social media strategy and activities
  • Utilize design templates to create drafts of promotional materials, such as social media posts, posters, flyers, banners, etc.
  • Assist with the production and promotion of events, including compiling event copy and maintaining events calendar; attend select author events as available
  • Create digital proofs of books for advance reviews
  • Research review lists and send review copies to scholarly journals and media outlets
  • Process received reviews, including filing, adding excerpts to title management system, and distributing to authors
  • Complete tasks, as directed, to meet overall sales and marketing strategies and goals
  • Provide general administrative support for the department, such as data-entry into press's title management system, and shipping books to and from the office
  • Monitor emails and provide support as needed

    Required Qualifications:

    • Excellent organizational and project-management skills; ability to multi-task.
    • Superior oral and written communication skills.
    • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite and working with databases.
    • Ability and desire to work both independently and cooperatively

    Desired Qualifications:

    • Interest in exploring a career in book publishing
    • Proficiency with Adobe design programs InDesign, Photoshop, and Acrobat.
