Duties:

     

    • Develop and enhance online learning resources, including research tutorials and educational materials.
    • Support online library accessibility initiatives by incorporating video transcriptions and implementing alt text for images.
    • Provide reference services, such as advanced search techniques, to assist users effectively.
    • Engage in library-wide meetings as part of our regular schedule and as time allows.
    • Initiate or contribute to various assigned projects that enhance the library's services and resources.

      Required Qualifications:

      • B.A./B.S. degree.
      • Excellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skills
      • Ability to juggle multiple projects, and capable of independently setting priorities to ensure efficient and productive work
      • At ease with a hybrid work environment that embraces both in-person and remote collaboration
      • Enthusiasm and aptitude for learning new tools and technologies.

      Desired Qualifications:

      • Enrollment in an iSchool graduate program

      The mission of the Health Sciences Library (HSL) at the University of Washington (UW) is to drive the advancement of scholarship, research, education, and healthcare by proactively addressing information needs, delivering essential resources and services, and fostering a culture of learning within the expansive health sciences community.

      This position is an opportunity for a graduate student to complement their academic journey with valuable hands-on experience that is readily applicable to future prospects. Previous experience in academic libraries is not a prerequisite, making this an inclusive and accessible opportunity for all.
