Winter 2022 Teaching Support

The Libraries’ default delivery mode for most UW Seattle instructional services in Winter 2022 will be online/remote.

  • This policy allows staff to uphold our core values of excellence, equity, and access while delivering services that meet the needs of instructors and students.
  • Requests for in-person services will be considered based on specific exceptional circumstances (e.g. accessibility needs, the nature of particular research materials).
  • Please note requests for in-person teaching and learning services require additional planning and staffing, and are thus not guaranteed at this time.
  • Services that fall under this guidance include requests for library instruction sessions; orientations; research consultations*; and workshops.

*Limited in-person consultations may be available via the OWRC.

Recommended online/remote delivery tools for instructional requests may include:

  • Zoom. Video conferencing & recording.
  • Canvas. Learning management system.
  • Google Drive. Document collaboration & sharing.
  • Research guides. Librarian recommended resource pages.
  • Email or phone. Low-bandwidth communication options.

For more information about UW Seattle instructional services, see the UW Libraries Teaching Support portal. For information about Libraries teaching support on other campuses, see UW Bothell and Cascadia College LibraryUW Tacoma Library.

We will review this policy at the end of Winter quarter.
