Access to TEAL Auxiliary Stacks and Special Collections

In addition to the Tateuchi East Asia Library's main stacks in Gowen Hall, there are some materials stored in areas where access is restricted:

TEAL Auxiliary Stacks (Kane Hall)

The collections in Tateuchi EAL's Auxiliary Stacks (in Kane) will be relocated to an offsite storage facility. Access to and loans of these collections were temporarily frozen starting December 5, 2022 until the collections are safely moved and settled in their new locations, a process that may take up to three (3) months due to various factors beyond our control. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you. The alternative is to request what you need from the Libraries' Interlibrary Loan Service.  For details regarding this moving project, please refer to the Libraries Offsite Shelving + iSchool Retrofit. Any questions, please contact your subject librarians.  Thank you very much for your understanding and patience!

TEAL Special Collections

TEAL Special Collections contains valuable and unique rare books as well as other types of materials that require special security measures to ensure they will be available for years to come. These materials are housed in secure, non-browsing stacks and are retrieved for users upon request. For more information, including how to request materials, see the Using the Tateuchi East Asia Library Special Collections page.

The TEAL Special Collections page has links to information about some of these special materials.
